Mr. Victor delos Reyes, President of Megatech International Inc., stood quietly looking out the window by his twentieth floor workplace in Makati. He was wondering what truly went wrong with his Cytel design and construction management contract that has been threatening to get out of control. A few minutes in the past, he adjourned an emergency ending up in his design engineering crew and his cooperating group of outdoors engineering consultants. They nicely requested that if possible, each of them wanted out of the Cytel project citing imperious and over bearing attitude of the client's expatriate technical personnel. They stressed that they were professionals eligible for some degree of respect which there was room for abusive language in formal gatherings of collegial peers.
The afternoon before in a meeting with the construction site, the Cytel project manager and his technical staff wandered out of the coordination meeting designed to resolve critical issues upon some design problems came across during the task construction stage. The Cytel project administrator was heard saying; " There is no use meeting with you people. We are tired of defeating a dead horse". Then he left and carried away with him the entire CyteI's specialized staff with out saying anything further.
Megatech Foreign Inc. (MII) is a company of talking to and task management designers affiliated with an Australian-based number of companies. Megatech provided engineering design and construction managing services to local commercial and govt clients. The company was arranged in 1990 starting with tive (5) technical engineers and since then had slowly but surely expanded the operation sooner or later employing BG people in 1997. As an engineering providers company, Megatech did not participate ln genuine construction itself, but rather acted for in addition to behalf with the owner carrying out the executive design due to its plant features, bidding away various doing work contracts and sub-contracts from the project, managing the construction performs and reporting regularly to the owner.
